You were obiously looking in the wrong places mate. Benath the orange skinned makeup-covered majority are some fine looking girls. You just have to look harder.

haha. you guys are crazy!

thanks for the responses. all of them!

i am trying to look as far away from central london as i can for places as i've seen them being a little bit more money...

it really kinda feels that i need to move over without a job and then hunt like crazy when i get there and hope that i can get a work visa, but idk. my current job (insurance field) is right outside "City of London" (from google maps at least) so i was looking at places in Stepney, Whitechapel, and Shoreditch. which brings me to my next question. is transportation pretty good? meaning if i look further out would i be wasting half my day in travel time or does it not really matter? because where i am in the US is ridiculous...i just hate how you need a car to get everywhere. but let me tell you there seems to be so many cool places to live. lots of "houseshare" options etc...

im going to look into the school option today at work.

thank you guys so much, seriously! i dont care what happens as long as i dont move over, become homeless and an illegal....

why would you want to move to a police state which has 4.5million cctv cameras watching your every move. this works out at one camera for every 14 people in the land. more than the whole of europe and more than the US. why would you want to move to a country that will tax you and tax you and further tax you keeping you constantly on edge and obidient until the day you die and even then they will still take a large chunk of any pittance you had the day you died. Why would you want to move to a country that constantly apologises for murderers rapists and child killers and of course the muslim population who never ever do anything wrong. You will move to a country with a population as ignorant as the deep south of the the US and who have only one thing on their mind me me me, and what about me. You will also mov eto a country where the women hate men. yes I am serious. Women in this country think they can do anything they like just because they may at some point have a child. This is a sick fucking shithole of a country

The only good thing here are the talented and original electronic music makers and producers.
DONT move here

most people would say the transport is terrible, but it isn't so bad.
An oyster card and living somewhere near a tube stop will cut out a lot of time.
It's worth looking at the combined tube and overland rail map to see what the score is.

It's possible to live quite far out yet still get to town OK, the bad part is if you miss the last tube. you are then at the mercy of a very expensive minicab.

The only thing wrong with this country [as in every other country] is the prevalence of ignorant, bigoted, provincial losers like you.

Its not that expensive here. The currency conversion rate will totally bugger you when you first move but compared to countries like Sweden or Norway its pretty cheap over here.

Transport here is terrible. The public transport suffers from massive under-investment, if you drive you get caught in terrible congestion. Best to live close to the places you go to frequently.

Alternatively you might be able to get a visa to study here, because our universities LOVE overseas students...maybe you could discuss this with the firm - as long as they agree to pay you for the time you work instead of study?
The reasom British universities love overseas students is because they charge them 3 times the fee of home/EU students. So if you are paying your own fees it's going to be painful.

But as whiterabbit said our weather is nice. :o

Compared to most of the US, our public transport system is pretty comprehensive.

If a little expensive.

By the way you can't afford Shoreditch or Whitechapel unless you are a millionaire. You can't even afford Hackney. A one bedroom flat will cost you £200k.
Your best chance is to move South West, or Essex or something!!

Out of curiosity, what is Brighton like? I'll go check it out next May, but in the meantime I'm curious..

Brighton is the best place in the entire world. Bohemian Heaven by the sea, with fruit machines and sunshine.
In fact I live in Wimbledon now because I moved in with my fragrant partner, but I would like to live there again one day. :(

thing is with Essex is you might get something cheaper rent wise but you will more than make up for it in travel into london, and there isnt great deal in essex but nice old pubs and countryside, unless you're talking places like Romford, which are in London boroughs, but they are more like the east end

at least in London you do get fairly cheap bus fares, but as soon as you get outside the M25 the train fares turn into extreme, excessive, bewildering extortion

I used to sit on the train like a colied spring ready to pounce on the inspectors and beat them to a bloody pulp when they asked for my ticket because I despised and loathed them and their filthy racket.

35 miles from the City mile I was and it cost nearly 20 quid a day peak

car is not much better at nearly a quid a litre for petrol

and buses are also not often enough and also expensive

no - essex can be a nice place to live, but if you have to travel anywhere it can be ridiculous

London isnt that bad for transport really, tubes at busy stops run every couple of minutes all day and buses are pretty cheap and frequent too

the biggest problem with it is that everyone in Europe, Africa, the carribean, the sub continent, Australia and New Zealand, Canada is trying to live there as well, so in order to get onto anywhere you have to climb over the 58 billion other people that are trying to get to the same place

now I live in Australia in a city of 2 million, with Big roads, cheap travel in a nice climate and my moods are considerably better
