Hey guys,

Ive been using Ableton for the last 2 weeks and this is my first piece.
Its kinda electro,I know its nothing close to the great tracks that people post on here, but I would really like some feedback as to what I can change or add or do or whatever you think about it..

Thanks
Jonny

lol @ anstrom

ok more mr miyagi type advice...

make another 2+ tunes over the next 4 weeks.

then spend a day and listen to ur favorite music then listen to ur own tunes.

if all goes right u will be jumpin out of your seat with ideas on what to do to fix the current ones.

dont listen to the existing ones heaps while ur makin the others.

just give it ur best.

I just gave it a listen and the sounds good through my speakers but you definatly need to have more variation in there, be it the kick, snare or your main hook. Sweetjesus has got some good advice going on, if I were you I'd go to his myspace link and have a listen to some of his stuff and you'll get the idea. As the Scholarly Gent says as well, get some automation going on with some filters, mild distortion what ever takes your fancy my man! and you could make that track into a right stormer!

You want some good ideas and to learn a little more I really recommend Computer Music its always got tips from the industry insiders. Also MusicTech, FutureMusic which have more tips on the hardware side of things (just in case your interested in that) its all good to learn from. Theres always little bits of stuff in them that will benefit your way of writing and producing. :)

Sorry to double post again, I forgot to say that it takes balls to post up your stuff if you've only been using Live for two weeks and I want to say well done!! :)

ok here is my reply finally,

Thanks for the replies, except for Angstrom. Just to reply to him saying "welcome to the music biz." I didn't post my music here to see if people want to buy it, and especially to come learn about the music industry. I posted it so I could receive some collective criticism and understand how I can improve my work, because I have only been using Ableton for 2 weeks. So really Angstrom, you turned out to be quite the ass hole :) .... And with regards to the music biz... I wont boast where I am right now in my life, but lets just say I am an extremely accomplished guitarist.

Now on to the civilized people.

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. I'll try make a piece that has way more diversity to it.
