Hi,
I have been having a problem when mapping midi buttons to the on/off button of a effect (e.g. filter/resonator). When i push the mapped button on my trigger finger it switches the fx on, but another press doesn't switch it on. (or vice-versa)
How can i change the setup so that i can toggle the fx on and off?
It sounds so simple, perhaps i am missing something obvious.
Cheers,
kpa

I don't currently have a Trigger Finger in front of me, but basically, MIDI-wise, you need to send two different messages--one to turn FX on, and one to turn FX off.
For example on my X-Station MIDI controller, I have to set the button I want to use to "Toggle" (i.e. "toggle" between two set values). I then have to set a low value (in this case "0"), and a high value ("127").
So, now when I press the button once, it sends one value to Ableton (either "127"). The next time it "toggles" to send the other value ("0"). If I didn't set two different values, but was always sending either "127" or "0", Ableton would keep receiving the same command over and over again.
There should be something on the Trigger Finger for setting this up.
Good luck with this.

Thanks for that. I understand now how it was working. I'll have to check the manual about setting the values. (Should have done that in the first place
)

look for a way to set the buttons to a toggle mode with min value=0 and max value=127. you should be able to set that up with that little maudio gui program (I forget the name..)
