Problems with EQ 8 and the dreaded flashing D!
Problems with EQ 8 and the dreaded flashing D!
Its happening again, its only one Project but its one I really like. I'm using a PC AMD Athlon 64 with 1 gig of Ram I've got Live 6.0.7 and I'm having trouble getting Live to play the damn thing
The D keeps flashing and then staying on. At first there was no sound, so I went through the plugins turning them off and on, I got to one of the EQ 8 plugins and the sound came back on and then started stuttering and cutting out also only coming through the left hand speaker. I then taken all plugins off of every track and the D flashes like mad and then stays on. I know that when the D flashes its having problems getting information out of the hard disk but I've only got 12 tracks in the project. I've done a lot bigger tracks than that and its been fine so I ask you what do you think is the problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

if you are on PC and have managed more tracks running before with no disk speed problems try this
http://www.diskeeper.com/diskeeper/home ... d=0&Apid=0
demo version, run it and see what it says about your disk fragmentation.

freeze tracks, increase latency ??
eq8 is not too bad but if you're using all 8 bands it will be more intensive than if you're using 4 bands. Find the settings you want and freeze track.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I know the problem with the EQ 8 wouldn't be anything to do with the flashing D the EQ8 was just one of the problems. I know that somebody else had the same kind of problem but they didn't get a response from anybody. Anyway, I taken every plugin of off all the tracks and then collect all and saved, rebooted and the track plays fine now. I've now started to put the effects back on each track again and it seems to be o.k. Thanks Angstrom I will try the diskeeper site and see what comes up. Thanks for replying.
Thanks Leedsquietman for the help, but freezing tracks doesnt help when the D is being a bitch. But thanks for replying my man!
