scenes not transitioning on beat

Post by Pete Lacis » Thu Jul 12, 2007 11:19 pm

Hey folks,

I'm experiencing some inconsistencies with respect to how to transition between scenes on beat. Specifically, this works through the Live 6 "Improvising with Loops" live set as well as another live set I've created. However, I created a new live set last night where I set the tempo, created some drum loops from Battery 4 (within Live) and then created some "clips" that were different parts of a song (verse, bridge, chorsus, etc) via audio clips (mic'd guitar). When I click the different scenes, they trigger immediately regardless of where the beat is. It doesn't do that "white blinking" toggle before it moves to the next scene.

Am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks much for any pointers. I've attempted (in vain) at using the search tool on this forum for this info but there was an enormous amount of pages and didn't see anything that related specifically to this topic. Thanks much!

right next to the pencil tool there is a button that sets quantization menu... put it to 1 bar and see how that feels for you, then move it accordingly

Changing the Global Quantization changes nothing. The problem still persists. Any ideas?

on the clips check the launch box there is another quantisation there, you can also set in preferences the default launch and clip quantisation properties in the defaults tab.

That was it! It was the quantization on the clips themselves. Thanks a million! :D
