Howdy. I was recording audio (guitar) last week no problems. But i just plugged her in again, and the audio level bars in Live 6 are only going like half way up...
no matter how much i crank up my guitar's volume knobs, the sound just gets more distorted, not louder. It's like its peaking. Its only letting me monitor/record up to a certain volume... The little arrow thing on the right of the volume bars (In Session View) that lets you limit the volume doesnt do anything. Of course, if i lower it below the 2 green volume bars, the volume decreases, but if i raise it, the green bars dont go any higher. They just stay about a little less than half-way full. I need to record louder. What the hell is going on?

no. there are no limiters or compressors on. im starting brand new live sets. i think it may be my soundcard actually. maybe i messed with the settings. i put them all back to default, but its still doing it. blah. ill uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.
EDIT: I uninstalled my sound card (Creative X-Fi Music), reseated it, and reinstalled. It seems to be okay, but now it's only recording on channel 1. If i have it on channel 1/2 its only receiving signal on 1. If i switch to just channel 1, it's fine, but mono.
I'm not sure what's up. I've looked at my creative "console" software for my card and it seems ok. i havent really touched anything. I dont know if its ableton or the sound card. the jack im using is a stereo jack. it worked before. i dont know. i'll ask creative unless anyone has any ideas?
