Linking Hi-Hats in Impulse?

Does anyone know how to link open and closed hi-hats together so that when I hold down my hi-hat pedal the sound switches from open to closed? I know how to do normal linking but it only seems applicable to playing on a keyboard. Thanks.

pg 252 in the manual.

If you don't have a manual... Slot 8 and Slot 7 have a link button, it allows slot 7s activation to stop slot 8s playback and vice versa.
