Im quite new to using ableton and was trying to lay down a groove on impulse but for some reason my computer keyboard wouldnt activate impulse and record the different samples that id selected. Each time i press A, S, D and so on i get a small yellow icon flash up in the top right corner. the Keyboard icon is on and ive tried ctl shift and K i think of the top of my head to activate deactivate but nothing the sample wont play. I end up using the mouse to select the samples

.
Please help
Thanks
Cameron.

You can switch the octave which corresponds to the keyboard input with the (Y) down, and (X)up key. Impulse slot 1 is assigned to note c3. make sure you have selected the right octave.
cheers

Isn't it Z and X for the octave, and C and V for velocity?

Is the track either record-enabled or set to "In" monitoring?
