playing samples at different note without changing its pitch

Post by ennayeh » Sun Jul 15, 2007 6:36 pm

Hello,

I have loaded a sample of an instrument into Simpler, and I would like to know if it is possible to play it at different notes (tonalities) without modifying the pitch. For the moment I can only change the tonality by changing the pitch, and it sounds rubish when variation between 2 notes is important.

I am still at live since my last post, so sorry again if my question is stupid !

Thanks :D

not possible - not even with sampler.

I'd like it to work as well - but that is not what simpler/sampler was intended to do. maybe they'll add this functionality sometime...

Yes, that could be a good feature for the next Live version.
Anyway, thanks for your answer

not sure if this is more what your after, but try loading the sample as a warped session clip, then assign it to be triggered by a note range (ie - when ready to assign that clip, press a midi key, then press two others higher and lower in succession.) then play with the trigger settings and legato.
