Not true... This is what you should focus on
(assuming by 'automation' you mean 'control the parameters I've mapped to my MIDI knobs')

I am using a hardware synth--a Moog Little Phatty--it records the automation for my hardware knobs just the same. I'll experiment with some of the tips here. thanks.
