Mapping from VST to MIDI

Post by dubstyle5000 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 8:40 pm

Any of you guys ever use Steingberg Groove Agent with AL? I'm having trouble trying to map the data from the plugin to an editable MIDI file within Live?

Any suggestions?

I wanted to bump this because I didn't get any replies. Maybe I'm not explaining it right, or not using the correct terms...

I got the plugin, Groove Agent (Steinberg's drum machine VST), and I get it to work fine. It's producing sounds through the midi track but the data isn't showing up. In other words, it isn't recording the midi information. I know it CAN, because I can use Groove Agent to export a midi file straight to my desktop and then bring that midi file back into AL and all the data is there.

I can also get the plugin to work if I enter the data manually through AL, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the plugin.

Any ideas? Am I routing something incorrectly?

Don't you need to record it? Like create a MIDI clip, then record, then play your VST?

Yeah... that's what I've been trying but still nothing. The midi clip just records and records but when you go to play back, there's nothing there.
