Remote 25 SL Midi Button "Enable Track" Problem

Post by obi-J » Tue Jul 17, 2007 5:48 pm

I'm having a problem with my Remote 25 SL and with Live 6.0.7. It's running on and IBM Thinkpad T43 with Windows XP SP2.

This issue is specific to the two buttons below the faders on the Remote 25 SL.

For the last three weeks everything worked fine. Automap worked and was also able to map custom midi to various parameters in Live. Then yesterday the faders and buttons below the faders stopped working. Checked Live and the midi mappings were gone. This was true for both the default Live Set and my working Live Set. What's strange is that all the custom mapping remained on the pads, pots, and keys. And the LCD still shows the fader mappings. Only the faders and the two buttons below were affected.

I went ahead and remapped the faders and buttons and was able to get the faders to work. The buttons did as well, but only partly. As set up in automap, I'm using the buttons to turn on/off "enable" the track. However, the button will only turn the track OFF and when pressed again it doesn't turn ON. I can still use my laptop's "F" keys to do the same thing and works fine, but on the Remote the button doesn't toggle on and off. Only turns off. A midi signal is being received by Ableton when pressing the button.

I've tried playing with the preferences in Live, but nothing worked. I want to also mention that last week I had a problem with Live where it lost all my preferences/settings. However, the Remote 25 SL mapping worked fine. But I'm not ruling out a software/system problem completely. They may be related, but doesn't seem the case since it worked while that problem happened

Not sure if this is a problem with the Remote 25 SL physically, Automap, Ableton, or my laptop.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
