Mastering Plugins............

Post by Pinetree Jones » Tue Jul 17, 2007 10:44 pm

.........for Intel-Mac (UB) and Live 6

budget = $250 (US)

I've heard good things about Ozone?

Thoughts?

Opinions?

I need dithering, limiting, and dynamics.

I also would like a preset called "perfect-mix" so I don't have to do any work.

But, seriously, any useful advice?

ozone has some good presets, but to be honest i dont use them but if u want an all in one with presets to boot, its probably the way to go.

I was joking about the presets, lol.

I don't need all-in-one, maybe there is a bundle of plugins, of better quality? Ozone just looked nice for the price.

What about Nomad Factory?

Let me revise the wishlist.

Master grade comp/limiter(brickwall)

Budget = $250(US)

I did quite a bit of research before my original post, and Ozone looked to be the best deal. Just looking for a second opinion. Any experience with the Kjaerhus products. Or better yet, which would you choose?

Ozone it is!

Apparently there are cracks for Waves plug-ins.

Hang on, someone's knocking on the door.

I find it paticularly entertaining that the Waves Diamond Bundle is $3800. What a deal!!!! I would pay at least, ummm.. 273 times more than that!!!

Hello,

I still get a lot of work done with the T-racks plugs from IK multimedia.

I would not say they sound "tube" but T-Racks does warm up your sound and gives a nice presence.

I just got the demo of Ozone last weekend and it sounds great so far.

Ozone has a different sound than T-Racks. Ozone has more "shine" and "air" to the mix. T-Racks does a more "traditional" mastering processes.

I used to use Ionizer (Arboretum) ages ago. It was effective but really not fun to use. I think Ozone is the logical progression from Ionizer.

If you have $250, check out T-Racks and compare to Ozone. I bet you go with Ozone though.

Regards,

Get Sony Soundforge9 250-300$ ... Mastering plugs included...
plus much much more....
I don't like their meters that much... other than that it's an excellent deal!

SoundForge 9 will get you some of the Izotope mastering plug-ins that are quite nice. That would make sense also if you need a good audio editor. You also get Noise Reduction and CD Architect.
My favorite plug-ins are:
PSP Neon HR
PSP Master Comp
Sonalksis Compressor
Voxengo Elephant
I'd also check out Curve EQ from Voxengo and PSP Vintage Warmer 2.
I also really like the Kjaerhus Mastering Precision Limiter.
Don't know which are available for UB.
