There's a new version of Flash Plugin on the Adobe site.
Check it out, then report, I'll do the same.
On Safari, check menu/help/installed plugins.
Search for swf and then look at the version, mine is : Shockwave Flash 9.0 r28

Let me know, how it goes,

i don't use firefox at all. awesome link 966sf. just read what some other people were saying. seems like this is a pretty common problem when they get under heavy loads. i'm gonna keep my eye on the activity monitor to watch what programs are hogging up the system next time it happens. i know widgets aren't helping the free memory either, even though i only use a few (of course i have to have ignignokt giving the finger) i love having them. i'll try resetting the PRAM when i get out of class in the morning. e z

Thanks 966sf. Useful link.

I installed yesterday the new Flash Plugin (9.0 R48) and the fan kicks in later and stays beyond 5000 RPM, then goes down to 4000 RPM. I don't have a printer installed but I'll check the PrintJob stuff later today when I'll be home.

Thanks to your link I have found this, so I'm not the only one:
I am having a loud fan issue myself. I notice it comes on very loud when I play a Youtube video longer than two minutes. I doesn't sound like anything's stuck in the fan but it is very loud. Can anybody play a video on Youtube tha's longer than 2 minutes and report their results. I have a Black MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHZ with 1GB of ram.

I think most software, including Apple's own has not been optimized for usage with dual cores. There are various discussions on the net about the usage schema of multi-core processors. You can use a Core then move to the other or go multi-thread from the start. This changes the CPU usage and in turn GHz and Temperature. There's always the possibility that some Macbook SMC controllers are faulty. I'll test and report,

bye,
