Post by nate_D » Wed Jul 18, 2007 8:06 pm

I'm still on 10.4.8.

I thought 10.4.9 was the one to be cautious about, and 10.4.10 was the fix. No?

since i'm also a pro tools user, i wait until digidesign begins to sort of "half authorize" it by giving us a link to a combo update from Apple or something. They didn't officially support 10.4.9 until a month before 10.4.10 came out. So I always just wait a few months. Live works great in 10.4.9 so I don't see what the rush is.

I'm running Macbook Pro (the latest model) on 10.4.10 with no problems. Didn't have any problems with my Powerbook either.

But I guess it depends which plugins you have, since didn't it cause some problems with certain plugins?

Anyway, I don't have any problems with Live's general functioning.

are any of you guys using firewire devices though? (particularly tascam fw1884s...)

thats pretty much what i was thinking 966sf. i'd really rather not load it up until i know people aren't having a problem with. by the looks of things i'm guessing it'll be straight.

just to inform you guys that since I updated to Mac OS X 10.4.10, my live 6 started crashing nonstop. CPU load was around 20-30% max, even with no rewire and a 13 track song it kept crashing every 5 min...

I'm on a MacBook Dual Core Intel 1.8Ghz 2G RAM with an Edirol FA-101 Firewire Audio Interface + MOTU 128 Midi Interface.

I downloaded the 1.1 quickfix from apple.com but it did change a thing...

never had those firewire/usb problems tho.

:(

Charlie,

is it unique to just that Live set? or anything you do in Live? Have you tried other interfaces on it? What plugins are you running on the set?

MacBook
2.16 c2d
1 gig ram
100 gig
10.4.10
MOTU Ultralite
Live 6

No problems, and it's fast as hell. :)

I've tried other forms of Sets: Djing sets work perfectly, but they're only bunch of clips/loops from mp3 files.

I also tried another song and it did the same thing. It's a pure Live 6 song, with Reason 3.0 rewire and some midi output to control analog synths... no VST what so ever, I even disabled my VST folder to see if it was source of the problem but no...

I can't even listen to my whole songs... and test my brand new Tannoy Reveal 5As!! :(

i'm thinking it might be a problem with Rewire. maybe try some sets without Rewire. Even in 10.4.9, I run into lots of problems with Rewire between many different DAWs
