Ok seriously I just now figured it out. The F keys are default assigned to track on/off!!! For months I have always taken care to assign this functions to number keys, but tonight I have been drinking so I was trying to assign tracks to number keys but I was in fact accidentally hitting F1 instead of 1... and it was already assigned! Sweetness!!! Had to mention it, this is a fantastic thread.

BTW: widescreen monitors = <3 <3 <3, I love my new one.

Cool. But I couldn't get this to work.

I'm presented with "Save changes to "xxxx" before closing?"

The options are "No", "Cancel", and "Yes".

Y or N for yes and no do nothing. Esc for cancel works though.

I also tried D, figuring that "Don't save" is the same as "No", but that doesn't do anything either...
use tab or shift tab to move focus right or left & hit enter

I just realized today how cool it is to copy and paste automation envelopes from different devices. For instance...........

Anyone know if there is a place to store automation envelopes for recall in different projects?
Can't you Store all of your automation envelopes in any clip and then save it as a "live clip" by dragging it into Live's Browser from session view?

I believe you are right about this.
That's something I was hipped to after posting that. Though I have not tried it. Have you?

I believe there is extensive documentation on this under the topic "dummy clips".

I have used clip envelopes extensively but havn't exactly tried what you're saying but I think it would work fine if all you want is a place to stash envelope curves.
It's a great isea actually.

Mini Sets. Take a group of tracks and drag them all into the browser and save them as an ALS file. Now you can pull the whole thing back into another set and it'll remember everything (minus the midi mappings  )

Found it on this guy's blog:

I love this topic! Learned some cool stuff (don't have the manual :( ).

I know a cool trick (mac only). It's nothing special, not only for ableton live, and is only for the looks of everything. Ding this will make your ableton version look special :)

apple+alt+ctrl+8

Have fun!
