New Monitors: Adam A7 or KRK V6 ?
New Monitors: Adam A7 or KRK V6 ?
Hello all. Finally, i ll upgrade my monitors (now i have Alesis Monitor one),
and i m really exited.
At first, i wanted to spend much less money, but after listening to a lot of
monitors, i realized, that i have to spend some to take a real step up.
The monitors i really liked at the shop were the Adams - they sounded very
well balanced, were nice to listen to (after all, it has to be fun for hours..)
and at the same time precise. AND - they are too expensive - but perhaps i
will just say fuck it and get them.
I have also the opportunity to get either some KRK V6 a good bit cheaper,
and perhaps some dynaudio bm5a... but i couldn t test them.
I listened to the KRK rokits and they kind of sounded pleasent, but not very
precise - more like a nice Home-Stereo.
So is here anybody who tested the Adam A7 against the KRK V ?
Thank you very much!

I'm about to do exactly the same thing!!!
I had Alesis Monitor Ones for years, and decided to upgrade to some newer better, actives.
I was torn between the Mackie HR624 and maybe the HR824 and th ADAM A7's..
I have heard the mackie 824's but just from the reviews it looks like the ADAM's are much better (not had a listening test yet)
Although Mackie are about to bring out the 624 & 824 mkIIs, but i think the ADAM's have won it...

KRK sound good to me, specially i like them on Digital enviroment (for the price are really good)
Adam is better IMO.
I use McIntosh XR-3 Speakers and McIntosh Amplifier vintage gear i know. Low notes and frequencies can be heard . sometimes Small Studio monitor don't do that.
Choose the ones you like more!! Good hunt!!

It is usual here that people praise whatever they own, instead of focusing on the question, I answered the question but actually I didn't buy Adams for couple of reasons.
1. most studios where I work have Genelecs - so it makes sense, getting used to certain sound,
2 more flexibility, I got 2+sub, so I use the small ones while on tour etc. Last not least the design,
3.I do not like ugly objects around and Genelecs are the only boxes that are esthetically pleasing ( though tastes vary).
I liked both better then any other in the price range and much above.

you should see how cheap they look on the inside.Alien Leg wrote:I also tried the Adam A7 and didn't like the bass response. I then got Genelec 8040 which are better for electronic music production IMHO. They go crazy deep for their size. I also love the build quality of the 8040s, like an indestructible stone.
