sheesh but neither of you help the guy out?!?!?! wtf is up with that?? why even bother posting if you're only going to wave your dick around?? it's a forum, not a podium.

for the most part vocals are mixed into the rest of the sounds and very difficult to isolate, let alone isolate cleanly enough to be used as a good sound source.

there's a few tricks
- get the IDENTICAL instrumental track, not an mp3, a raw PCM .wav file, then you can subtract, bit by bit, the instrumental from the final version. that is, you can if you can get them PERFECTLY aligned. this can be done, someone posted a youtube showing a guy doing it and he was amazed he lucked out getting it on the first try.

- sometimes vocals are panned to dead center, so you can use the UTILITY plug in that comes with Live to remove the stuff panned left and right. check the tips and tricks sticky for a tutorial on the utility plug in. here it is http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ity+stereo
go through that tutorial, we can't just tell you how to do it without you trying it, you have to really understand what's going on with a tool to use it.

http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/
is the most known acapellas site, acapellas are very sought after and not widely distributed.

you can also go to your local record shop and look for 12" singles of songs, very often they have the final version, the instrumental version, the acapella and a remix on the same 12".
