Song tempo automation bug?
I've never run into this before so I'm stumped. If I try to write a song tempo curve in the master track it all of a sudden goes grey and the tempo doesn't respond to the automation at all. Even if I clear the envelope and set the tempo back to default, "song tempo" remains greyed out and unresponsive until I close and open the project again, yielding the same results if I try it again. I'm doing this on my mac. I'm gonna move over to my PC and see if I can reproduce this.
Is this a feature or a bug? Am I just missing something?

I've just tried replicating this on my PC. My default template setup has nothing but two tracks to start with, an audio and a MIDI one. I didn't add any clips at all.
1.I went to the arrangement view and selected the 'song tempo' drop down on the master track.
2. I used the arrow and mouse clicked a couple of nodes on the automation timeline.
3. I dragged the right one down signifying a slow down. so far, so good, the automation timeline is still red signifying that it is live and active.
4. Now if I click in the track, say at the beginning to highlight a bar, and drag the global tempo, up in the top left, bam! my automation goes grey and there isn't jack I can do now but close this project and reopen it.
Exact same results as on my mac.
Longjohns,
No, everything is default settings. No MIDI mapping to the tempo.

Fine, that's understandable. But why can't I revive my automation after futzing with the global tempo? Or rather how do I get the automation to be acknowledged again?
