Coupling problem of TD-8 v-drum roland with ableton PLEASE
HEy,
I'm just using ableton and i find it really a fantastic program so I want it to use with my roland TD 8 V-drum controller.
I have bought a midi interface and have coupled my drum controller with the computer.
Ableton recognise my midi in signals and can resend the midi signal back to my TD 8 controller. BUT......
I only can hear the midi signals that ableton are resending to my drum controller as a piano tone, But i want that the signals are converted trought my drumcontroller so I can hear te drumtones that i have created on my td-8 drummodule;
fOR A RESUME/ I can hear the midi signals in my drummodule but only as a piano sound and I want it to be converted into a drumtone (Hihat, basdrum,.....). Can somebody help me, and is this an ableton problem or more a Roland problem??

Good guess but ...
Yes, I've tried that (every channel untill 16 or you can also set "All channels" and only at 10 and "All channels" I get the piano sound,
So that means that the midi signal is send out by ABleton but the TD roland can not convert it into a drum sound (and the strange thing is that I can not find the piano sound in my drummodule (isn't a standard sound).
What now???

I have a TD12 kit and had a TD6 kit which was more or less the same for backing sounds.
The midi setup is ch 1-4 are backing sounds - basically a GM sounds module. Ch 10 is the drum kit. Ch 11 is percussion. I think this is the default, or if not, it the way I allways have mine setup.
If you are allways getting paino sounds regarless of the channel, then check the midi channel settings on the TD8 - paino is the default backing patch for backing part 1 - normally on Ch.1.

Nothing to see here - move along!

Thanks
It has been a while,...
But my problem is solved,
There was a parameter in my module tha says that channel number 5 was the drum patern.
Now I can record. There is a little bit of delay in the midi tansport, I know that there is already a lot of written but is it possible to play live midi into the controller without mutch delay (on stage i want to do a solo and my brother must mixed my solo into a song (Loops and etc)?
