EQ Three causes critical distortion

Hi,

Its the second time now as the EQ Three dangerously increases volume of the instrument causing critical distortion. The volume ups to ~30 dB making speakers mad.
The FX cools down after toggle.
What I've noticed by the way is:

1. it happens when i use Virtue Desktop to jump to another virtual desk remaining Ableton playing.
2. it happens with the midi machines only (actually as said before: it happened second time since May, and AFAIR both times were with Simpler)

Macbook, CPU Intel 2G, RAM 2G, OS MacOSX 1.4.10, Ableton 6.0.7, Virtue Desktops 0.53
