Womb, Tokyo: any budget sleeping suggestions in that area?

Post by AOnline » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:28 am

Planning my trip to Japan in november (2.5weeks). Booked my flight (695€ Amsterdam - Tokyo - Amsterdam), train pass and right now I am just looking into some hotels (tokyo only, rest I will book later on when I am around in the country).

Of course, I will pay a visit to Womb (heard so many good stories about this joint). Does anyone have a suggestion for hotels/inns/etc... in that area? I am trying to travel on budget. Heard there are love hotels (love hotel hill) which are often used as normal hotels as well. I am travelling with a mate of mine , and heard that it is not common/accepted for same sex couples to rent a room there. Any coccoon sleeping spots overthere?

Cheers guys!

Not familiar with Tokyo, so must indeed have some results in that area. Especially knowing that this district is so popular.

Will defenitely use this site for more searches. Thanks for that tip!

it doesn't matter to be close...you could try finding a cheap hostel sort of situation in shinjuku but other than that nothing in tokyo is for people on a budget. anyways the train system is so nice you won't need to be close you can get from harajuku to shibuya in like 10-15 min. Womb is a little hard to find but it's a cool area with other clubs and a nice little headshop on the side.

Thanks. Heard that indeed as well. Have about 30-40 euros to spend on sleeping per day for two weeks... shoudl be possible. Otherwise the coccoon beds are an option... not claustrophobic luckily enough!

Really looking forward to Womb. Heard great things bout it!

cheap is a relative term...

i'm staying at claska next month
& if u get a weekly room its way cheaper than a pretty average hotel
in my home town... plus it looks a lot better...

& yeah just make sure you are reasonably close to the subway

or for real cheap theres always couch surfing

Was in Japan for a month a few years back and the best I can advise is these guys: http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/
The cheapest accomodation I could find all round Japan, and it's not half bad either. I stayed in one other place that was as cheap, and it was dirty and horrible. This chain excellent.
Enjoy your stay.
