crap... axiom 25 just stopped working...
Yeah... well, was just getting up to go eat, and my Axiom 25 fell of the stand (while ON, I think) and fell to the floor. It didnt seem like a hard fall at all to be honest, but the LCD is not glowing nor does it seem to be doing anything. I keep flipping the power button (I'm going through USB to my comp for power AND data) and nothing happens. Crap. Anyone know if this is common?
It was such a light fall. It landed on a file of clothes too. And it just like rolled off my stand, it wasnt like thrown. Crap crap crap. this is my only controller, thats why I'm concerned. Anyone have a problem like this? Should I open her up and see whats up? maybe something got loose inside?
EDIT: Seriously now guys, anyone here good at fixing shit? I just opened her up and couldnt see anything disconnected or anything. Fuck.

no huh? well, anyone interested in buying it for parts or for you to fix? it could be something small, i dont know. like i said, it fell on some clothes from like a foot off the ground and just stopped working. i just got it like 3 months ago. i treat it like a baby.
i sell it for a steal. just pm me if you are interested in fixing it up or whatever. im just gonna go buy a new one or a different controller.

missed the thread, yeah, I can help.
it could be a loose connection inside, crack it open and look for a loose cable connection or any kind of mechanical connections like a socket or ribbon cable, stuff like that.
also try jiggling the power connection the fall could've broken the connector off the board.
the power input says 12V DC so it's safe to wiggle parts around inside while it's plugged in, try that. wiggle the display and anything else that could jiggle loose. the dangerous 120V AC stuff isn't inside the box, you won't get hurt, trust me. I doubt it shorted out and fried.

Alright. I'll bust her open and try wiggling shit around. I don't know what else to do other than get a new one.
I can't be certain, but I THINK it was ON when it fell. But I can't be certain. I dont know if that means anything. But I'll give that a whirl and see what happens. As long as you're pretty sure I won't get electrocuted, haha.

Re: crap... axiom 25 just stopped working...
I had an Oxygen 8 a while back, something was wrong with it from the beginning, and I never got my money back. I think these products are made at and substandard manufacturing factory in China, and if I had known that axiom 49 was made by the same company, I would never have purchased one. Now that I have it, I am crossing my fingers that it doesn't break.
On top of that, I can't get it to work with Ableton, even after carefully following the instructions for several hours, reinstalling the program, etc.
For the time being, I have a good looking keyboard sitting on the wall.
