I am seeing Ableton crash with 2 instances of Battery 2 loaded in 2 MIDI tracks. Not sure if this has already been mentioned....but it is causing issues with me trying to work on new material utilizing Battery 2 for percussion stuff.
CPU utilization doesn't get outrageous either...it just sort of goes into "not responding" mode when I am using 2 MIDI tracks w/Battery 2 for Tympnai on one and Cymbals loaded for 2nd MIDI track. This is running on a Compaq laptop Athlon 2800-M processor w/1gb additional memory installed for 1280mb total memory. I have seen this happen doing other things with the same hardware. I thought that this was fixed?

Just an update, I have seen similar issues with Battery 2 and Live 5.x in the past. Scenario is have 1 MIDI track with one file with some pattern in it, duplicate it and have 2nd file with modified pattern (less notes). Set up 2nd MIDI track and copy first file to it and remove all patterns (so it is 1 measure but blank), copy 2nd file from first MIDI track to 2nd MIDI track and edit pattern and load up 2nd instance of Battery 2 and select a different kit (I used all cymbals) and at that point things become flaky with Live. It goes unresponsive and have to exit out of the program and reload it all up.
I will see about selecting all files and dragging/dropping them to my HD and upload it (if someone can tell me where to upload the files) so they can test it out. I will also see if this does the same in an earlier version of Live 5 (not sure if I have 5.0.1/.2 still installed, mayb reinstall to check it out if that's the case). I'd appreciate suggestions on this problem. I am also experiencing pops/clicks/noise when playing these back in track/session view. I think my buffer size is either 256 or 512 currently and am using ASIO4All driver (latest or close to latest).
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Noone has run into this issue? With any NI products and Live 5.0.3? I need to see if I have 5.0.1 and will also see if I can duplicate this under 4.1.4 as well providing I have them still installed. Suggestions welcome of course.

Darkened,
This is occurring right now on a set that just has two midi tracks - one has a four on the floor bass drum using Basic Kit, the other has a jazz pattern using the full Jazz kit - there are variations and I have about four scenes I am switching between to audition bass lines. I cannot record an audio version of the tracks or freeze tracks without it crashing live. I've sent NI an e-mail today and will post their response. I have other sets using Battery and they are fine - maybe has to do with the RAM usage for the full Jazz - although I have 1.5 GB. Running Battery 3.0.1 and Live 5.2.2, Mac OSX 10.4.10.
