Mac OS X 10.4.10 combo update 1.1 fails to get my FW Device

Post by Pasha » Tue Aug 14, 2007 3:27 pm

Hi.

I just want to share this with you and get some suggestions from the experts.
I have a CoreAudio FW device (no drivers needed) that was reported as not working with Mac OS X 10.4.10 update but only after appling Audio Update or Combo update 1.1.
I have so decided to apply Combo update 1.1 and with my suprise the FW Device wasn't detected anymore. I tried to apply Audio Update but the install application complained that it was impossibile to install on my Macintosh HD.
I then went to my SuperDuper bootable copy (10.4.9) restore it to my HD Drive and this saved the day.
What do you think? I thought this was already solved. Do I have to try a different udate route?

not shure if it is the same or similar, but my new terratec phase x24 fails to give me any midi out and spdif funktionality....im not shure if it will work under 10.4.9...but i will test it after my next livegig....
terratec says, its not there fault, because the drivers are generic and from apple...

you might need to install the latest "audio update" or what it's called from apple. you can use the software update function in the apple menue of your mac for this.
I had the problem that my imac lost the rme fireface for some seconds sometimes, the problem was solved with the update.

Audio Update doesn't want to install, probably because I installed the 10.4.10 V 1.1 (that already contains it).
What update you used, combo update, software update or some other method?

Hi,

For those of you thinking I'm pretty dumb....because I gave a solution to this problem myself in an earlier post, I know that it can be fixed without re-installing 10.4.9 but I'm curious about who made it right without the posted fixes if it affects only a few FW Audio Interfaces or if affects all of them.
Pls if you had success without any of the known fixes, well, let me know.
Thanks in advance! However it seems 10.4.11 is on his way....
