My space is buggy.

Post by Isaac Yacockov » Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:15 pm

What's up with MY space?
The band width is buggy, the music players open half the time. I get random friend requests from people who obviously did not care to listen to the music but want to add numbers to their site, so they can spam me with bulletins and other crap. As well as other annoying issues that make the almighty trendy networking site quite a bad experience.......

Am I overreacting or is this common?
Can I give you 3 one's for a five?

it's so buggy that I thought you were being sarcastic at first. it's way obviously buggy. "hey why didn't the music player come up?"
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I got tired of MySpace in 1998 when it was called GeoCities..
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

It seems like the mac daddy for music networking though. I miss the old mp3.com with it's charts and such.

I used to do an Internet-radio show called Samplications, airing on Indieport.com - it was mixes from electronic artists all off mp3.com. Sad day when they dismantled and erased all online content.

If anyone wants to hear the Samplications episodes, it's at http://www.nebulae.com/music/samplications.html

There are 13 episodes, but it took me a couple to warm up, so listen from #4 on, and from #6 on was REALLY good.

MP3.com was amazing. There were some really good bands on there... Doll Factory, Meat Distributors, Sex With Sarah, Tapping the Vein... Ah. MP3.com.. before the internet went to shit...

Myspace buggy? Nasty people not interested in me or my music but just want to add me for numbers and then spam me? Bandwidth issues ?

Were you abducted by aliens or lost in the rainforest for the last 5 years?

This is how Myspace has always been, for all it's strengths and positive values. And as it grows, the problem is probably gonna get worse before it gets better.

Other things you'll discover - your music has been resampled to 32 Khz/ 96 Kbps hash, that almost all the pop up ads lead you to nasty adware sites and you better be careful with your firewall and security settings because viruses and worms have been transmitted through Myspace.

I had issues with myspace and held out until this year when a few friends "BEGGED" me to get a site. For the longest time I wanted nothing to do with it.

Tapping the vien was/is an awsome band!

I'm having a great time using http://www.ReverbNation.com as a music promoting tool.
It's very focused and well done.
They're paying artists just to have a page and drive traffic to the site.

I've even discovered some amazing music already like this guy:
