what would be more interesting though would be a new Rewire 2.
Midi and Sound combined just like VSTs. That would kick some but.
It would be pretty cool feature for Live also, be able to combine a rewire-midi thing and a return audio.
My old signature was pretty stupid, so I changed it to this one.

is that including or excluding fancy useless animations?

like moving cables, flashing lights and spinning things for no reason?

way to keep the cpu down *cough*.

funny thing is that reason is one of the most cpu effecient programs I've ever seen inspite of all the stupid flashing spinning and swinging. if it was a total sluggish program I could see how someone would rant about it but come on...
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

meh i know that you can disable it, i just think its stupid that they actually sat down and coded that in the first place, instead of spending those coding hours on other, more important things. sure eyecandy might be nice, but id rather have a better software in terms of execution and performance/workflow, then something that looks cool.

not that im saying that reason sucks, on the contrary, but you have to agree that it is an uneccessary feature to say the least.

It's not entirely worthless...it kind of got me started understanding how to route gear in real life as well...

thats the whole thing im talking about. i was amazed when i saw it aswell, but really.. they actually sat down and coded it, when they could have been spending that time coding another synth or something. pointless indeed.

sure made me drewl though, but really. not worth it.

actually i really like the jiggles, when you have complex routing with loads of cables its handy sometimes to be able to flip the rack a few times & make them move, enabling you to see what's going on (to a certain extent)

I guess it's one of these things that the coders add just becauce it was fun. Fun is important not pointless.

what the..

so my question is, without the animations, would you not be able to understand how to route different signals, real life/software?

big words.
It'll hopefully will be. If the are able to keep the cpu down and still sound like the demos does then it's an instant buy for me.
i had the chance to use the beta and it is quite a machine.
there is nothing like live with reason in rewire, though. actually, with protools, you can use both as a rewire! but who needs protools when you've got live, right?
