hi,
in the manual both the auto filter image and its description show a band reject switch. I've installed 3.0.4 but I don't see it... is there a special trick
to unveil it...?
greets & thx

Just read a book of Laotse and he recommends to use pictures instead of words...
Screenshot from manual
Screenshot from application
so what happened to this plugin?

good point! I guess you can use an eq-4 to band reject, but the manual did lie!
Dell Studio XPS 8100 Windows 7 64-bit, 10 GB RAM. RME Multiface, Avalon U5 & M5, Distressor, Filter Factory, UC33e, BCR-2000, FCB1010, K-Station, Hr 824 & H120 sub, EZ Bus, V-Drums, DrumKat EZ, basses, guitars, pedals...

Hello,
There are no magic words to say to unveil it.
Despite the Band-reject is pictured in the Live 1,2 and 3 manual, it never made it´s into the application. The reason are some nasty technical problems and we decided to leave it out. Sorry! However, there are so many other nice things to have fun with...
Best,
Ch. Kleine

No prob, Mr. Kleine, I was just curious.
Probably you may want to exchange the screenshots on p. 143 (live3, english manual, printed) upon next record cleaning, too.

Oh, the nooooootch ....
It`s a long and a bit bizzare story with this notch and autofilter is suffering from a lot more things. Other people did correctly report that the frequency range of the filter controls from 40 Hz to 12.5 khz is not exactly state of the art...
So the question for us is, do we repair the autofilter or do we design a
more flexible type of modulated filter which does overcome all these
limitations at once and offers much more filter types.
I think the last way would be more rewarding. we wil see.

pretty pretty please with sugar on top!!! bring it on. For those looking for alternatives to the auto-filter right away within Live, search these forums for montrealbreak's tip on using EQ-4 as filter--he has got it down to a science, and it sounds really good, and addresses the limited freq. range robert mentioned...

A better filter is a great idea, I find myself just using the eq4 for filtering most of the time.
Do you (Ableton) have any plans for other new FX? Your fx programming is often overshadowed by the rest of the features, some of live's fx are excellent, I'd love to see some more.

Yes, of course we are going to create new effects.
I hope that i can devote more time to this in the future.
In Live 4 we had to focus on the Simpler/Impulse and the MIDI Effects.
