I keep getting crackles and pops intermittently that is resolved temporarily by relaunching Live after saving. Tough to use in a live setting!!

No adjustment to hardware / latency settings / buffer etc seems to help.
both recorded samples thru Live and supplied demo samples have same problem streaming from either internal HD or external Firewire.
Any suggestions?

Setup: G4 Ti PB w/512 MB RAM
OS X.2
USB Quattro latest driver- only device on USB port.

ps- when I get this to work, it's gonna rock.

No real Live problems here ;), no Ableton Live problems two.

G4 tower, single processor 933 MHz
Max RAM
OS 10.2
Buildin Audio, it sounds like sh*t, but it's the only audio hardware i got which supports OSX.
Emagic AMT8 midi interface, is working very good in OSX!

OSX.2 -Live1.5.2 -
Motu828 FireWire AudoInterface-
Tascam428 used for for Live MIDI control
External FireWire HardDisk (IceCube Oxford-7200Rpm)
iMac G4800Mhz

Sound drops due to external FireWire HD spinning down after 10-15 minutes ....... do not know how to resolve this problem :(:(
No problems on internal more slow HD but need to test more ...
It never happens with OS 9.2.2

Just an update-
am able to run Live out Pbooks I/O under 10.2.x without any dropouts- this from running internal HD or 8 tracks or so (small samples) off an iPod as FW HD.

The quattro via its driver seems to give me the most trouble- almost like the sample becomes degraded or the bit depth changes or something- relaunching Live fixes the problem for an variable and unpredictably short time-

as a repeat question-
is anyone running Live successfully via the Quattro on OS X??

I have sent an email to M audio on this as well- thanks Ableton for looking into this too. . .

I'm having the same problem. Everything starts to fall apart in 10.2. Restarting helps for a moment....Any suggestions?

does it happen with built in I/O core audio or using a driver for another I/O device (e.g. Quattro) ?

I haven't tried 10.2.1 yet- but am expecting the same - unusable in a Live situation :evil:

For those using M AUdio USB Quattro with Live under OS X.1.5 and X.2 and above- M AUdio reports others are complaining of intermittent audio degredation with the quattro- they are actively researching and attempting re-writing drivers for a fix-
they have reminded all users of the Quattro to have the latest drivers and builds for OS X, and to check back frequently.

Just a heads up.

Yeah, the quatro is a piece of junk. Get the MOTU 828, I have that and it works like a dream!

well- I'm not sure if I would go that far- I just finished an entire remix project for Taylor Dayne using the Quattro exclusively with other software under OS X, and it never had a problem- in fact, it was pristine- and just the ticket for remote work- easier to transport that the MOTU, which I have also heard great things about-- and may purchase when I get the funds

I wouldn't go as far as saying the Quattro's a piece of junk. I just installed the Beta-Driver and everything works fine for me. I think most of the problems I faced were in Audio/Midi setup in OS X 10.2.

The same problem of audio degradation exists on my powerbook g4 550 with a griffin imic
