yeah, and my opinion is I take anything Spawnmaster says with a grain of salt. If he trashes every successful act because they are "pop" and unoriginal then he should be able to take my criticism.
This guy is also the guy who said you SHOULDN'T use a sub when mixing.

Not sure which tracks you have listened to but all of my releases are unavailable through my website or AJTunes (which I no longer use) since being signed.teknobryan wrote:I can not STAND Spawnmaster trashing all these "popular" and successful acts.
Dude, I went to your website where you posted your two tracks.....let me just say, you have no place to talk.
To be honest teknobryan I'm not sure what you're vendetta is about, I'm allowed to voice my opinion having been involved with edm for about 14 years now. I respect everyone else's opinion just as I would have them respect mine, and nowhere have I put down any users on the forum or troller or anything like that.
I have made my opinion on daft punk and all the commercial pop acts clear in threads that come up, and if I didn't do so then the idea of a forum would be pointless since everyone would agree.

You clearly took that out of context. We were discussing near-field monitors and if you had any clue about you are talking about then you would understand what I meant.teknobryan wrote:yeah, and my opinion is I take anything Spawnmaster says with a grain of salt. my main point is that you think everything that is "pop", hence popular, looses credibility and hence sucks because none of your dj's play it. i.e. Justice and Daft Punk.
let me ask you this, what is your opinion of the Ed Banger artists? They are somewhat popular (Justice, etc.). Do you think they all suck?

I went like a couple of weeks ago to AJTunes and I heard those two tracks on it. I just went today and it says not available.SPAWNmaster wrote:

To be honest I've never heard of Ed Banger so I can't make an opinion on him. I listen to mostly tech-house and deep tribal techno.teknobryan wrote:my main point is that you think everything that is "pop", hence popular, looses credibility and hence sucks because none of your dj's play it. i.e. Justice and Daft Punk.

I hardly jump to the conclusion that because something is mainstream it automatically sucks, I think you're drawing to that on your own, mate. I have formulated my own opinions on these groups just like anyone else has, by listening to them and I simply don't like what I hear and don't think it's original. Sorry if that doesn't coincide with your own opinion.
They've neither sold out nor cashed in. They've just allowed a mainstream act to heavily sample one of their tracks for a big single. That's exactly what Daft Punk themselves do...so really, if you think they're selling out you dont know all that much about their methods. and as for cashing in....well they've been doing that for years. as have the folks they sample from. and the circle of life continues. ah-men.

STOP SAYING EDM, ITS A BULLCRAP CATEGORY!
like pop...
go to myspace.com/edbangerrecords and listen to it.
*deep* tribal techno is soooo yesterday, you know, its sooo easy to throw some drumloops together and put a kick under it.
And whats tech-house, pfft! NOTHING!!!!
You get the point, dont you,

Jeez, what's up with you guys?
Keep it easy, for Christ's sake.
Anyway, Kanye West sampled Daft Punk for one simple reason:
He acted like a douchebag, at the MTV MA's, and someone in his PR department pointed that out.
'Kanye, you were a real turd bashing Ed Banger and whining like a four year old kiddo. Don't you know their act is MASSIVE?! Don't you know that Busy P, the founder of Ed Banger, is also the manager of Daft Punk?!'
The rest is history.
And stinks, too.

If you were a successful artist would you allow a mainstream act like Whigfield or some other Euro trance nonsense to sample your work?b0unce wrote:They've just allowed a mainstream act to heavily sample one of their tracks for a big single.
I think there comes a point when the music has to stop somewhere.
