I seem to have lost live instruments

Post by Regie_Boy » Thu Aug 23, 2007 1:24 pm

I reinstalled live on my mac from download (I have live version 5 on cd, but was fortunate to get a free upgrade to version 6)

After some messing around i got my preset effects back, but i seem to have lost the instruments that come with live and some drum samples.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Dave

I'm on live 5 and I am not sure how much the directory structure has changed, but if you are saying that you have no actual instruents in your Live instruments folder try selecting the live instrument folder in the Live browser, click the litte search icon in the upper right of the browser and search for impulse (or any of the other instruments), once it has located click the "up one level" button in your file browser and this should show all of your instruments.

I've had a similar problem in the past with only one instrument showing up in my instruments folder. Somehow the root setting had gotten changed, doing what I suggested above worked. it actually happened a few times, but has not happened to me again for a while.
