Best "Hippy" song of all time (in your opinion)

Personally I'd have to go with "There is a Mountain" by Donovan.

I'm sorry, but that tune is just a flippin jam.

Nice! Lennon was killer. When my wife and I were married she walked down the "aisle" ( wasn't really an Aisle, we were married outdoors, at sunset on the shore where the Choptank meets the Chesapeake bay) to "love is real" by John Lennon. And we made our exit to "All you need is love" by the Beatles!

I tried to talk my wife into letting me play "why don't we do it in the road" at the reception, no dice.

hehe.... I wanted to have Richie Hawtins DE9 closer to the edit played while everyone was seated for cocktails and waiting for us while we had pictures done. No dice. Also, a couple of the other songs that were struck down were Anrufe In Abwesenheit by Einsturzende Neubauten - a nice sounding song with lyrics in german - but it was scratched because it may have been considered too "weird" by some of our older guests (including her 90 year old grand mother) and "Mr. E's beautiful Blues" by the Eels, because of the chorus which went: "goddamned right, it's a beautiful day" repeatedly.

In the end I gave in, but it still was a pretty damned cool day. Took us about three years to pay it off, but fun as all get out it was. And my Donovan song did make the cut, so that was cool.

Oh I lurve DCD, but if you watch them play, ya know, hippies.

I don't hippy hate unless said hippee stinks or is annoying.

isn't it the annoying stink that makes it a hippy?

no man, it's an undercover cop, a cop posing as a hippy to arrest people for drugs.
new shoes are also a sign, or so I've been told, when wearing new shoes, talking to hippies.

Donovan is probably the hippiest of them all, but Heart's early stuff is kind of hippy chickish,

like anything by Sally Oldfield who I think is maybe the next most hippiest, with
"Children of the Sun"

Jon Anderson and early Yes is hippieish also
