That's funny. I met Wax Tailor at a downtown SF record store (I can't say which one, it's too embarassing) the day after he opened for Aceyalone and RJD2 at the Independent. A really nice guy. He hooked me up with an 12inch, a CD and a ton of stickers! I like his music too.

I missed that show due to an accute attack of lameness. :( lots of good show coming up there I gotta catch.

I'm in the mission, but the Independent is in your 'hood over in the Western Edition aka WE.ED. I used to go there when it was the Justice League and the Pharcyde just put out Bizarre Ride, they played 3 songs and jetted, fuqrs, still love 'em though.

9.14 - Kid Koala
9.19 - Pato Banton
10.1, 2 - Toots and the Maytalls
10.5 - the Go Gos (they f-ing rock, saw them with Berlin ~10 years ago, GREAT show)

I just f*cking hate that Rasputins. Get some goddamn stairs! No excuse though, I'm too close to Amoeba. Why couldn't they have put that across from the Apple Store, huh?

Oh, I thought you went into the Virgin MegaStore on Market. Damn, I totally forgot there was a Rasputins on Powell, I don't get down into tourist central too much.

is that a good store?

never been to that one, back in the 80s I'd go to the Rasputins on Telegraph long before they moved across the street, when Amoeba was a bowling alley. funny there's a Blondie's pizza next to the SF Rasputin, right? just like in Berkeley and the Concord store (that I also used to go to often, growing up in the far east bay.)

No, you were right, it was Virgin. Rasputins is a step up, but I still don't like it even nearly as much as the one on Telegraph...

The only new hip-hop I've picked up recently is the new Clipse. It is good, but not as strong as their debut album. Too many tight verses ruined with one head-smackingly bad line, IMO.

I need to get the new El-P. And hopefully Aesop will release something new soon...I'm seeing him in October, can't wait!

Oh, and sad as it is about Dilla I cannot stand his production. I guess it's just me...but I haven't heard anything yet that I've liked. The Shining was thoroughly disapointing, and everything else I've heard that he's done I have not cared for.

Aesop does have something new: http://www.aesoprock.net/

I just picked up the new single: A - Coffee; B - Citronella, The Next Best Thing (which is not on the new album). I'm not disappointed.

Sad as it is. I think I learned about it on myspace. What can I say? I have a day job where I sit in front of a computer all day. Anyway, the art on the album and videos is by Jeremy Fish, who in my opion is an amazing artist. If you live in the Bay, check out his gear at Upper Playground on Fillmore in the Lower Haight. Damn, what kind of a commercial am I?

Also +1 for the new El-P album and anticon. It came out last year but Jels album Soft Money is a great record front to back.

You know, the guy's at work are into Wayne and I just don't get it. To me his stuff just sounds really really weak, absolutely no delivery. He sounds almost like he's bored or something. No disrespect to you or any fans, I just don't understand why he's such a big deal.
