for me it's "eyes of the world", "here comes sunshine" or "fire on the mountain"
the young bloods version of "get together" is really great

ya...see...that's the thing, it's a blanket term. meaning long hairs who sing songs paint pictures and do drugs. but then there is the whole documented hippy movement in the USA... hard to tell if smutek had something specific in mind, and really....i would probably submit manu chao's "merry blues" as the best hippy song of all time. I mean, he's a hippy right ?...and thats a crackin tune.
I'm down with all variants of hippies except yippies, yippies can inhale my shit.

that's right. it was a experiment on university's in america.
after some people get involved with drugs like lsd, they forget to cut their hairs and wash their trousers.
so bush and his crony's could unnoticeable conspire their plan for leading the world.

I would say that 'hippy' specifically relates specifically to a strain of over idealistic longhairism based in california between about 1965 and 1970. Because if it isn't limited to that I'm going to nominate a Hawkwind song, and you really don't want that!
