Cant Trigger hits in battery using midi keyboard when rec...

Post by beatfreakn » Sun Aug 26, 2007 7:37 am

Hey,

Ok so i am recording audio from battery into ableton. Usually i can trigger the cells in battery using the keyboard as its armed but as the midi track is not armed anymore because the audio one im recording into is i am unable to use the keyboard and have to use the mouse.

So how do i have the audio track armed in Ableton but still use the keyboard to trigger hits in Battery as i am recording? As you usually need the midi track to be armed to use the keyboard to play it.

Please help!

Cheers

If you set the midi track to "monitor in", and select "all ins" for it's input, then select that midi track as the input for an audio track, then arm the record button on the audio track, you should be able to monitor and record the sound from the midi track,,,
