Vst issues with ableton, really need help!!

Post by tablist56 » Tue Aug 28, 2007 5:41 am

hi guys...ive recently upgraded to 1.5gigs ram...using dual 1.6hz processors, xp.

when using a vst synth (vanguard) i get very frequent pops in the audio.

it only ever seems to happy with a long pad sequence or complex synth pattern. the cpu meter in albeton is only at around 15-35% when this happens also.

im not sure why this is happening.

i should just reiterate that it doesnt happen all the time, just with long pad chords etc.

any ideas?

options-preferences - VST buffer size - most people seem to set it to 'same as audio'

then increase your audio buffer size if that doesn't help.

just for VSTs, but that depends on what it was set to, if it was set to larger than the audio then it'll decrease VST latency, if it was smaller, it'll increase latency.

first you take out the pops and clicks, then you upgrade and tweak your sound card for lower latency.
