Whaat! A huge thread and no one's mentioned Portishead. That has got to be one of the greatest bands ever. Also Radiohead, Tool, Pink floyd and early Sonic youth are great! But man that Portishead is something.

I've thought about it long and hard, but I can not think of a best band ever. Too many great bands to choose from throughout the ages. I will also add that the bands I like all have their weak points and I can't think of a band or musician that has totally impressed me with everything they do. I can always find something to criticise. When I come across a band that writes songs/music that I am 100% happy with, that will be the best band ever for me.

I wouldn't say I think of any band as the best band ever but I would say that people like Orbital or Massive Attack have definatly influenced me and then theres influences that came from my childhood like Pink Floyd or the Electro side of things like Radio Active - Steps Ahead from Electro 4 or the world class wreckin cru. Definatly Arthur Baker - Breakers Revenge and Aleem - Release yourself these are all Artists that have influenced me over the years.
