Saw them in hamburg and theyy did this cd mix thinggie i guess.
They had some hardcore cussing, french bullys, so i wasnt able to spy their gear...

Good Traxx, bad *live* show (when you pretend cdmixing as something live-ish)

i read somewhere theyve started using ableton since going "live", maybe they have a similiar setup to how daft punk have??

When I checked the prices of their concert here the tickets were about $135 for crap seats.

I don't know if you are being a smartass or trying to make a valid point, but I don't think Daft Punk is hurting for money that they need to charge that much to balance the cost of their stage show. I'm sure they put on an amazing stage show, or should I say the stage puts on an amazing show for them. I still think it's obnoxious to charge that much for their show. There are a lot of people of different economic backgrounds that are huge fans and it's just a slap in the face to say that only people with money to burn deserve to see their show. Artists at their level make huge amounts of money and I think it's a slap in the face to the fans that brought them there. Maybe I'll just start pirating music again so I can save the money for artist's concerts.

skiills? to me they look like 2 guys who made a one-off, great remix and ended up being totally overrated. their album is crap zzzz. they are lightyears away from daft punk in terms of musicality...

if someone deserves respect, its definilety not them, but their art director for making them look cool and having brilliant music video ideas.

btw, arent ppl in france getting bored of that ed banger sound???

in relation to daft punk::: when i saw them both times this year, both at festivals i paid 35 and 45 pounds so about 70 and 90 dollars, which i felt was worth it for them alone, nevermind the other acts that were one - that was a bonus

but all i can say is ... imagine the electricity they use for their show, imagine all the crew they have to set it all up and help run it, its all money that adds up, plus theres support acts on that need paying too, so your paying for them also

So are you saying they have more overhead then a show like Nine Inch Nails which is about half the ticket price or less?

But I will agree that the best way to usually see these acts is at festivals because the price ends up being cheaper if you include all the acts. But what makes that even more insane as far as price is they played Coachella a year or so ago. A day of that festival was $125 and you get an assload of other artists. I think that was the same year Madonna and Depeche Mode played. OR just go see Daft Punk by themselves for $135. Whatever.

Looking on the forums most people going are asking about the ID situation which makes me feel VERY old.

I'm not going to argue with you about the cost of a Daft Punk show versus a NIN show based on the light show, neither of us receive the bill in the mail. But it was convenient to pick the most mellow pictures of a NIN show compared to the most over the top parts of a Daft Punk show. There is also the cost difference between paying 2 band members compared to 5 and as many toys as Daft Punk has for gear I would argue the NIN members have just as much if not more, some of which you don't see on stage.

I guess it all doesn't really matter in the end though as long as people feel they are getting their money's worth. I would have enjoyed the Daft Punk concert just as much if they unpluged a few lightbulbs and chopped a few bucks off the ticket price.

Justice can play their entire set off an ADAT while sitting in rocking chairs for all I care. It's $22 and am sure the crowd will be fun if nothing else.
