what is the best way to select clips(not launch!) with midi?

Post by nonnus » Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:06 am

hi 2 all,

i am preparing a performance live set to start using when performing live

for now i have my tracks neatly warped and ready for launching along wiht some effects,
but i would really like to be able to loop a playing track as it is playing like on a cdj 1000

i have tried setting my midi controller to do this,
by mapping the "set" and "loop" buttons but i never seem to reach a stable and safe environment,
at any moment and even with global quantisation set to 1 bar it can start a loop in bar XX.2.3 insead of XX.1.1 just trainwrcking everything

or if i press the "set" buttons twice it keeps reducing my loop until it becomes a 0.0.1 loop, not really usable

does anyone has some info or setup that is willing to share ?

thaks in advance

weird! I have my set buttons mapped and they only lock to global quantize... if i hit loop start/end they are always on the 1. I'll check into it more later when im on the music computer

i supposee it is needed to set up both loop marks, in and out,
i was trying to only use 1, the end and trying to keep the loop lenght always the same

i just tried setting the loop in and out set buttons and so far it always loops on X.1.1...

now i have anoter problem, with the arrow keys it is quite simple to select wich clip to control, but i dont want to use eithr keyboard or mouse,

what is the best way to select clips with midi ctrl ?
