Export Tempo Automation
I have tried to figure out a way to do this, but I can't figure it out. One of the great developments in v.6 is the ability to copy/cut song data (wavs/midi etc) from one project, close it, open a new track and paste in the data. Previous versions didn't seem to do this and I found it a real pain. The new version doing it is a FANTASTIC development. BUT all I need now is a way of exporting tempo automation from one project to another. Currently I have to rebuild all the automation and (I have a lot of automation data) it takes a long long time. I wish, great Ableton gods above, that you could tell me a way, or develop it within the program, to export my automation data. Amen.

Faster workaround:kazaamBLAM wrote:Currently I have to rebuild all the automation and (I have a lot of automation data) it takes a long long time.
-- Copy the tempo automation to the volume automation of a track (make sure to use the "copy envelope" command, not just the "copy" command).
-- Drag that track to the browser.
-- Open new project.
-- Drag the track from the browser to the new project.
-- Make sure the tempo range min/max values are the same as in the source project.
-- Copy the volume automation from the track to the tempo automation.

fantastic
Wicked... thank you very much... I'll be doing that in about twenty minutes after another coffee. I'll be uploading a version of the live set once it's been performed. Wow, Ableton really is amazing. If you, perchance, want to hear what I did with it last time, feel free to check out my myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/kazaamblammos), the four tracks there are all downloadable and link together to make a 26 minute live mix. Thanks again!
