sampling audio with live, problems

Post by Thomas » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:39 am

he,

like an hour ago i was watching the transporter on my pc and wanted to sample 4 seconds of sound. So i thought: "i've never done that before, lets try using ableton"

I have my mic set to stereo mix, so it doesnt record from a mic but it records the audio that is playing on the system. So i pressed play on wich part i wanted to record and tried to records that piece into an audio clip. It recorded alright, but also gave me a huge delay/reverb whatever feedback, wich it records as well!

I dont know if this is a known problem, i tried to search but couldnt find anything (i may search in the wrong way though). Any suggestions/ideas?

thanks in advance

i just realised it must be because of live playing the sound it records, and thus recording that as well, and then building and building and constantly recording the sound it plays, and playing that as well and so on

so im gonna try again with the live volume turned down, i think that will solve the problem. muting may be better

thanks anyway

1. Press shift-keys once in a while. That will result in displaying capital letters at the beginning of sentences and in (movie) names. You'll be surprised how many people suddenly are able to read and understand your posts.
2. Turn off the monitor switch in the track you are recording in or use Audacity.
