very basic question about live's impulses

Post by gbarriac » Mon Sep 03, 2007 1:42 am

Hello,
I am new to using live, and am just looking at the demo version right now.
One thing that confused me is that if I try to play one of the impulses that comes with Live (Z-Groove to be specific), the kick is audible while the snare is not, when I play it on the keyboard.
If I turn up the volume, then the snare becomes audible but the kick is deafening.
Once the snare is recorded, I can change the velocity to make the sound louder, but I can't seem to get the snare sound louder when I play it on the keboard, which is pain because I can't test out how it will sound before recording. I tried all the knobs I could find with no luck.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but some help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Gwen
