It is very hard or almost impossible to do sourround in Live. Also the Icon console connects badly. There are so many things that you cannot do. But this is not what you want to hear, right? You boys act like religious fanatics. Why not realise that it is just software, and it is possible to use it for what ever you like to. Being "pro" means use your tools according to what they can do best for you.
If i were not with Ableton i would certainly not spend so much time here repeating the same things again and again.

All of this is hearsay. Why don't you just do the simple phase cancellation test and determine it for yourself? If the quality is so important to you, why do you rely on the word of others? If this were say, someone accusing somebody else of a crime, would you be content to rely on hearsay?Heinz Graaf wrote:Ok. I have googled "Ableton sounds"

NB: Ableton forum memebrs are not merely requesting you to take our word for it - do the test your self and figure it out for yourself.
EDIT: Did you even read all those links? The Torq forum thread is titled :"WHY DOES Live 6.0.3 SOUND SO MUCH BETTER THEN TORQ ?" The MPC link isn't even about Ableton. The Groundmotion thread says exactly what we've been saying - warp, effects, and automation.

Wow. you call people here wankers, and you post a tread where people compare mastered CDs with a Live PA and a offline timestrech software for 700 bugs with a realtime timestrech in Live. Now this is what I call rocket science...

Baelton sounds like Ableton
Ableton has a retarded MIDI implementaion
Ableton doesnt do surround
Ableton has a wack reverb
Ableton isnt copatible with Waves
isnt compatible with BFD !!
isnt compatible with most vsts afaik
How can you seriously say that Ableton is a good up to par DAW??? Seriously...
Ever tried live midi recording on low latency with loop on?? hick hick anyone? Live 5 aswell as live 6. On Macbook pro aswell as on pIV.
