Actually it would be really useful to have a UI indicator that just lights up when warping is engaged on a clip (or even per track or globally). I think that would head off a lot of these discussions, and help keep people from confusing the quality of warping with the quality of the mix engine.rbmonosylabik wrote:And watermarked in Bright red letters in Live at all times unless the skin is red based, in which case, it should turn blue

The only way to "resolve" this "issue" is with a double blind study.
Someone post a wav which has been run through a whole number of DAWs.
Post them up with out specifying the DAW used and let people say what they hear. Be sure to include control wavs.
Should make for amusing results... I saw one poll 'guess the synth'. Lots of synthheads cited the classic analogues etc. Only to be told they were all the Reason Subtractor.

Whilst I know where yer coming from, I think the only way to resolve it is by people making great sounding tracks and making a point of saying they used Live as their main sequencer.rundll wrote:The only way to "resolve" this "issue" is with a double blind study.
.
I intend to do just this. Live has utterly revolutionised the way I work, and I now do stuff with the speed and white heat of inspiration that I used to do with cassette 4 tracks, but that curled up in the face of Cubase/Nuendo/Insert regular DAW here.
It. Has. Been. Done. Already!rundll wrote:The only way to "resolve" this "issue" is with a double blind study.

-then everyone starts disagreeing about how to render, what to put into the DAW, how or if to process the signal, etc. etc. etc.

The thing I don't get is that of all the numerous artists who actually release music on labels that is made with Live, I've never once read about any of them complaining about the sound quality of Live. In fact I've read nothing but praise. So, quite frankly, I'm swayed more by their thoughts than those of a few bedroom geeks who harp on what Live "sounds" like to them. And in fact that one magazine review that I read which mentions audio quality references user complaints, and not any kind of real evidence that there is a problem.
In my short time on this forum I'm honestly shocked at the amount of whining that takes place about nothing.

3phase is wholly incapable of describing or dealing with the problem and he does so while insulting Ableton and Robert Henke. it's a fine example of the arrogance and ignorance that can come with an open, worldwide public forum. 3phase isn't worthy to even get Henke's drinks from the bar let alone challenge his audio knowledge. he doesn't even know how to use Live and admits he doesn't even use it that much yet he's very critical of their business practices.Igor L wrote:In my short time on this forum I'm honestly shocked at the amount of whining that takes place about nothing.
