MIDI set up help please - Live 6

Hi all,

I'm new to Ableton and have just bought my 1st MIDI controller/keyboard.

The MIDI model - is a CME UF5.

I've ran the patch so it works on Vista. It worked briefly with Acid Pro using the N.I FM synth plug-in.

I cannot get it to work on Live at all.

Is there an idiots guide for setting up a MIDI controller/keyboard with Live?

I've been into preferences, changed various settings but nothing.

I know nothing about MIDI controllers so I'm really struggling.

Would one of you kind souls be able to explain to me (or even post a link) to a beginners guide to setting up a MIDI coontroller with Live. I've tried the suggestions in the LIVE manual but still nothing.

Hi,

Ok. Did you put an instrument on the midi track (pick one)? Then arm record and press some keys to see if you see anything in the meter in the midi track so you know it is getting input. Cables in correctly as well? All I can think of at the moment. It should work fine but I don't know the model. I don't know of any specific issues with midi boards and live...
