apologies if this has been discussed before but my searches found nada. My problem is that I have a few samples - drum loops mainly that when previewed or loaded into ableton sound terrible and all distorted however if I load them into Winamp then they play fine.
I only have a basic setup and am new to this music making malarkey so any help, no matter how obvious is appreciated.
I tried changing the input and output buffer size but doesn't seem to resolve it. The samples are quite loud but even if I turn down the preview volume it does solve the distortion. It is fine in winamp.
Like I said my setup is very basic at mo (don't laugh) and hence I am using on board soundcard. I have not changed the input or output configs.

ON board sound AC realtek I believe
