Throbbing Gristle were the deciding factor in my wanting to play music instead of just listen to it. I would say them, Cabaret Voltaire and Kraftwerk were the most important contributers to electronic music in the 70's. To me anyway, they would be the most influential.
They reformed, and have done a few shows lately, unfortunately nothing in the states....
