Crashing problems with Live 6.0.3 - Please Help!

Post by MusaqNoob » Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:41 pm

I have a Dell Ispiron 9300 with 1.86Ghz and 1GB of RAM and a 52Gb Harddrive.
I'm using an Eridol UA-25 as my soundcard and mainly a sample package called Sampletank (which incidentally is referencing files on an external harddrive connected with USB 2.0 - might I be reaching my USB transfer limit?).

After creating and playing 4-5 simultaneous tracks I start to have problems. Live usually wants to crash and close after only a few minutes of tweaking; it usually does so when I'm resizing a loop (while playing tracks simultaneously) or unchecking 'solo' on a track bringing all the other tracks into the mix or even just starting the mix. This problem has persisted and renders the program almost unusable, since I have to reboot the machine after every crash. Could it be my computer? It seems to be quite capable with other modern applications, but not Live. The CPU usage usually fluctuates between 45 and 70% and I don't ever seem to see it hit anything higher than 85%. I'm just not sure what part of my set up is causing the bugs.

Please help!

Hi,

First thing you should do is updating Live to 6.0.10, available on our website or via the "check for updates" entry in the Help menu in Live.

Then, if it does not solve the problem, make sure you update Sampletank as well, as they also corrected a number of issues. If not solving the problem again, you should contact [email protected] giving all of these details:
