Bubbly Baseline help!!

Post by stefanstorm » Thu Aug 30, 2007 7:17 am

First of all I'd just like to thank everyone that's surfing these forums and helping us newbies out with our constant questions.
Anyhow, I've been trying to recreate a bubbly, thorbbing baseline that can be heard in Roisin Murphys 'Overpowered' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlFjf1pW ... ed&search=
Is it an arpeggio, or is it a fast baseline that's been pitched and modulated? Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated..

edit: and incase you knew what the tb303 was already, i don't mean to be a dick. just sounds like a basic 303 line to me.

Listen to this and let me know if you want to know how I did it. It's not exact and needs further tweaking but it gets the idea across. Cheers.

The "Bubbly" bassline sound that you are referring to is a tb-303 emulator. There are several software versions on the market. Most famous of them is Rebirth.

The specific sound can be achieved by programming your synth line with the 303, make sure you are set to the Sawtooth waveform, and Overdrive the signal to create some mild distortion.

Aw, shoot. Just realized, Rebirth is for PC, I'm on a mac, intel to be exact.
Anyone got any good suggestions for a 303-vst that can create an acid baseline?
Appreciate it!
