BIG Sound Problem

hi .
I have compared the same track in wavelab,nuendo 3,cubase 4+3 & ableton ,and I got to say ableton sound engine is the worst!!!.

there is no transient and no depth, also there is a cut out frequencies in the high & low spectrum.

there is no life in the sound compared to the other app.

how can I fix this BIG PROBLEMS.
what is the reason to the difference?
is there a way to switch to another sound engine?

Are you Warping it, or playing it at the original tempo?

is it your track you're listening to in these daw's? or just a normal wave- or mp3-file?

so my guess is:

a) you're deaf
b) you didn't remove your q-tips
c) in case of a wave- or mp3-file: choose re-pitch-mode in clip-pref.
d) in case of your own track: learn how to mix a track down. or learn how to write trance-bass-lines
e) any plug-ins on the master? on the tracks?
f) did i mentioned that? you're deaf.......

so if you can bring more details, it's easier to reply.........no worry.

o.k

you can try for your self !!!

I took a wave file 32bit 44.1 and paly it with no effects or edits or volume change.

in all programs and lesten to the results
ableton has the worst sound engine
(sequoia has the best sound engine)

I have RME fireface 800 soundcard & ADAM p11 monitors.

i'm in the office at the moment. will test this laters and will report back. i can only compare with wavelab and fl-studio. i hear like a fuckin' dog, so if there's a different, i'll hear it.......

and again: check your warp-mode. use re-pitch or no warping.

Got any particulars for us, or just "problems in frequency spectrum"?

Thats a lot of gear, I suspect you can use it to give us some details.

Switching a sound engine? I've never heard of a program that switches sound engines. Neither has wikipedia, and google is fairly generic on the term.

ok, i did the test with a "superfunk feat. ron carroll - lucky star" 16 bit wave file. ok, i know, a bit cheeeesy, but this tune has a monster base-line.

ableton:

16 bit, 44.1, warp-mode is off (in clip-view), no efx

wavelab:

16 bit, 44.1, no efx

fl-studio:

16 bit, 44.1, no efx

audio-interface:

motu-ultralight

monitors:

adam p11

sorry, dude, i don't hear a fuckin' different. even the heard reverb is identical. the bass is smooth and the transients aren't shaved in both daw's. sounds crystal clear in both daw's.

what's wrong?

This poster had specific DETAILS when he posted about the shortcoming of Live's ability to resample audio.

The significance of said details were still arguable... but people could discuss more than "sounds good. No it doesn't. yes it does. No it doesn't"
